What is the Chilean industry Sustainability Code?
It’s a voluntary standard that guides wine companies on the challenges of working sustainably, based on requirements in three complementary areas:
This area includes the land owned by the company (Type A land) and its long-term suppliers, those with contracts lasting two or more years (Type B land).
This area includes wineries, bottling and/or packaging plants, and other facilities related to wine production.
This area includes Type A land submitted for certification from the Green Area (Type B land is addressed in the section on suppliers); wineries, bottling plants and packaging facilities; offices and other facilities related to wine production that are submitted for Red Area certification; and central offices and other areas with human resources administration.
The area of the Certification includes the physical location of the business where wine-tourism activities take place; service related facilities are also included. This standard complements the Sustainability Code in its three areas.
This area relates to sustainable practices in the vineyard.
This area includes wineries, bottling and/or packaging plants, and other facilities related to wine production.
This area includes the sustainability policy, the Code of Ethics and different social requirements related to workers, communities, governance and internal control systems.
The scope of the Certification audit is the physical location of the company where wine tourism activities take place; service related facilities are also included. This standard is a complement to the Sustainability Code in its three areas.
