Winemaking has, since time immemorial, been an essentially communal endeavor. From pruning to harvesting, and from treading the grapes to the pleasure of enjoying a fine glass, this ancient activity brings people together to joyfully share in the marvel of seeing grapes transform into must, and must into wine. In Chile, the collaborative culture surrounding this age-old beverage spans more than a century—though it undoubtedly began much earlier, likely with the arrival of the first wine-producing vines in the region. Men and women have taken part in this tradition, generously and selflessly contributing countless hours of wisdom over the years.
