Carmenère

This has become one of the emblematic red wines of Chile. This red variety disappeared from European vineyards during the middle of the 19th century, and reappeared among the Merlot varieties in Chile a hundred years later. Chile has become its global refuge and the Colchagua terroir features the largest surface area planted with this variety. The Chilean climate that is dry during the months of maturation has enabled the good adaptation of this late variety that absolutely requires a good terroir. Its enological potential is vast, with great complexity and elegance. It is known for its intense garnet red color, and aromas of red fruit, damp earth, and spices. Unique variety to be enjoyed with Chilean food thanks to the signature spices of the variety.
