Cabernet Sauvignon

Renowned around the world, this variety is known for producing the leading red wine. Cabernet Sauvignon has made Chile its second home after arriving here from France in the middle of the 19th century. This late-maturing red grape thrives on vines of the Aconcagua, Maipo, Cachapoal, and Colchagua Valleys. In these valleys, the great amount of sunshine, the breeze that comes down off of the Andes Cordillera to cool the nights, and the absence of rainfall in the summer have made it possible to attain a consistently high-quality Cabernet through the years and different harvests, with an optimal ripeness that endows it with notes of red fruits, aromas of blackcurrant, figs, and cacao, and even truffles.
