Chilean winemakers met for a technical tasting of the 6th Annual Wines of Chile Awards gold-medal winning wines.
Jay Miller, The Wine Advocate’s guy in South America was in Chile in March. He spoke with Wines of Chile on his impressions and the advantageous place of Chilean wine in the global economic crisis.
British wine critic Oz Clarke chooses his Top 250 wines, and Chile’s Viña Falernia’s 2005 Syrah Number Tops the List! The first chapter lists Oz’s Top 40 wines of the year and Chile takes pride of place with the Viña Falernia Elqui Valley Syrah 2005 listed as his number one wine. In fact, another Chilean cool climate wine makes the top 10 with Viña Leyda Garuma Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2007 from the Leyda Valley at number 7 in the ranking.
