Les Citadelles du Vin to have Chilean Overseer

The OIV (Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin) has placed Chilean winemaker Sergio Correa in charge of 2008 Les Citadelles du Vin competition in Bordeaux France. This is the first time in the 16-year history of this French competition that this prestigious position has been held by a Chilean.

Correa, who has participated in the competition as a jury member four times in the past, will be responsible for controlling the entire competition, from the reception, acceptance, rejection, and service of the samples, managing the jury members and the judging process, preparing and signing the official results, and overseeing the awards presentation.

“I think this is good for Chile, as well as for Chilean wine and winemaking,” Correa told Wines of Chile.

The 2008 version of the Les Citadelles du Vin competition will be held May 17-19 in Bourg-sur-Gironde (Bordeaux). This year 70 jury members from 25 countries will taste 1100 wines from 30 countries.
