The 7th Annual Wines of Chile Awards takes place in Santiago, and for the first time will have a Canadian Judging Panel. WoC has approached an outstanding group of journalists, sommeliers, and wine industry experts from across Canada to judge the 2010 awards.

Now in its seventh year, the premise of the competition is to show the world the superior quality of Chilean wines. The competition is open to all Chilean wineries with close to 500 entries in previous years. Wines are judged by varietal and price point with the goal of coming up with 12 category winners and one “Best in Show”. Additionally, bronze, silver and gold awards are presented.

The judging will take place from January 11 to January 13, 2010, and on January 14 the judges will lead a seminar to provide the industry with valuable feedback on how to succeed in the various Canadian markets. The awards will be announced at an invitation-only awards ceremony on the evening of January 14.
