In 1917 Pedro Pavone-Voglino left his homeland in Italy’s Piamonte wine and his pioneering spirit led him to Maipo valley in Chile. In 1956, ‘Don Pedro’ and his oldest son, Felix Pavone Arbea, began making and bottling fine wines that nowadays are exported to more than 30 countries. The productive area of Santa Ema covers over 500 hectares in Maipo, Cachapoal, Casablanca and Leyda valleys and its production capacity is over 9.5 million-liter. Santa Ema was recently named to the Wine Spectator’s list of Top 20 World’s Finest Value Brands, and nine Santa Ema wines were rated above 90 points by Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator.
