Chilean sommelier is on his way to represent the country and try to win the World's Best Sommelier title
Chile’s top sommelier Marcelo Pino is on his way to neighbouring Argentina to represent Chile at the 15th Concours du Meilleur Sommelier du Monde, a global competition to find the world’s best sommelier.
Over 60 of the world’s top sommeliers will arrive in Mendoza next week to compete over a five day process of tasting and testing, hoping to make it to the final.
Last year Marcelo Pino took home second in the Best Sommelier of the Americas 2015 competition, and he has been crowned Chile’s Best Sommelier twice. With experience in Chile and having worked in restaurants around the world, Marcelo is a strong hope for Chile.
The competition starts on Friday 15th April, and the Grand Final is on Tuesday 19th April starting at 3.30pm.
You can follow the action on social media #BestWorldSommARG2016 and of course we will be reporting on how Marcelo and Chile does in the competition.
Good luck Marcelo!
