Chilean wine brands reach top accolades inMost Admired Wine Brands list in Drinks International
Each year Drinks International polls wine experts around the world to create a list of the Most Admired Wine Brands for that year, and 2016's list sees Chilean wineries sweep the board with three wine brands in the Top Ten, and 7 in the Top 50.
In position number two is Torres, a Spanish wine brand with its own winery in Chile, which has previously been in the top poll position for the last three years and is frequently acclaimed for its sustainable winemaking. The next Chilean wine brand in line is Casillero del Diablo in position number four, commended for its abilty to keep up with market trends and for its innovation. Vina Errazuriz followed in position seven, a very respectable position for its first time on the list, and credited with bringing many 'firsts' into the Chilean wine industry.
Cono Sur reached 15th in the list, also commended for its commitment to sustainability and for its growing popularity as a Pinot Noir producer. In position 46 comes Undurraga with a special mention of its exploration of different wine regions; Vina Leyda took 47 commended for taking the Leyda region in San Antonio to a wider audience; and in position 50 Santa Rita, which has been honoured on the list five years in a row.
As the only country in South America to have any wine brands listed in the Top 50, it is a source of great pride for the Chilean wine industry to be so postitively recognised internationally.
