DBTV host Charlotte Hey speaks with Aurelio Montes (Viña Montes), (Michael Cox (Wines of Chile), and (Jeremy Beadle (Wine & Spirits Trade Association), about their impressions of what the near future holds for the wine industry.
Aurelio Montes cites a world trend in which consumers drink less wine, but demand better quality. He also discusses how sever drought in Australia and difficult conditions elsewhere have reduced the world supply, leaving open the door of opportunity for Chile.
Wines of Chile’s own Michael Cox is more optimistic than ever about the position of Chilean wine in the UK market as Chile continues to build upon its current solid base of success and reputation. He also addresses the opportunities and difficulties associated with rising prices and how to convince consumers to pay more for a good bottle of wine.
Jeremy Beadles concludes the program with his reflections upon a range of alcohol-related issues.
