Over 50 Wines from some of Chile’s Premier Estates to be Presented

June 15, 2007, Aspen, Colorado. For the third year in a row, Wines of Chile will spotlight twelve of the country’s top wineries during the 25th Annual Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, Colorado, on June 15-17. The Wines of Chile section will be located in the Grand Tasting Pavilion.

“Chile has made great strides over the last few years in terms of site selection, the implementation of advanced technology, and the pioneering of new coastal regions, ” explained Ricardo Letelier, Managing Director of Wines of Chile.  “Now, more than ever, Chile is poised for the U.S. market, and is in a position to show America that it can deliver premium quality and unsurpassed value. We look forward to showcasing our best in Aspen again this year.”
The Chilean wines that will be featured at the Classic are emblematic of Chile’s diverse growing regions and winemaking styles. Visitors to the Wines of Chile section will have the opportunity to taste crisp, citrusy Sauvignon Blanc hailing from the coastal valleys of San Antonio and Casablanca. Visitors will also have the chance to sample complex Cabernet Sauvignon, Chile’s signature red, grown in the famed Colchagua and Maipo Valleys. Stellar examples of Carménère, the spicy Bordeaux variety that is now exclusive to Chile and thrives in the warmer zones of the Central Valley, will be available for sampling as well.
