Gourmet Magazine’s Michael Green to Conduct Seminar on Chilean Carménère
More than 35 producers to showcase more than 200 wines in New York
Wines of Chile invites members of the media and wine trade to experience Chile’s premier wines at its New York tasting at Gotham Hall on Tuesday, March 27, 2007. The tasting will open to consumers later in the evening. This marks the third grand tasting for Wines of Chile, which will showcase Chile’s top wines from across its diverse wine valleys.
The tasting will feature individual tables for each winery as well as special tables highlighting Chile’s esteemed Sauvignon Blanc and Carménère. There will also be a special section for those wineries seeking U.S. importers.
Michael Green, wine consultant for Gourmet magazine, will conduct a tasting and seminar for media and trade exploring Carménère, a grape unique to Chile’s terroir, and Carménère blends. Green will also host a seminar for consumers providing an overview of Chile’s wines. Attendance to the seminars is based on a first come first served basis and they are limited to 50 people.
“This seminar will provide an opportunity to taste and discuss Carménère, a grape that is distinctive to Chile,” noted Michael Green. “Carménère has a unique history as well as a broad range of tastes and subtleties that arise from the varying wines, making this seminar worthwhile for anyone interested in Chilean wines.”
