Chile’s harvest this year has come to life in a different way to usual: with pictures of foot stomping, hand picking and even juice testing coming in from all over the country in a Twitter campaign to show the world the bounty of #ChileHarvest2014.
Take a look at the Twitter feed and you’ll see over 70 tweets of pictures taken by winemakers, agronomists and interns as they pick, sort, squeeze and taste wine throughout harvest. Agronomists walking the vines, harvesters crushing grapes with their feet and truckloads of grapes being taken to the winery were all sent in from over Chile’s wine regions from Elqui in the north to Maule and Bio Bio in the south, starting in January and still carrying on through May.
Top Twitter shout outs go to individual winemakers @VindeTunnel (Andrea Leon, Lapostolle) and @GonzaloFCastro (Gonzalo Castro, Vina San Pedro), as well as @vventiquero (Viña Ventiquero) and @Quintay_Wines (Viña Quintay), who tweeted the most pictures to #ChileHarvest2014.
As Chile’s 2014 wines reach your dinner table, take a quick flick through the twitter feed photos to get an idea of the journey that wine made to reach your glass. Salud to Chile Harvest 2014!
