On a hot Summer’s evening, what could be better than a glass of crisp Chilean Sauvignon Blanc on the sea front? In one of the most picturesque of wine tastings of the year, wineries from Casablanca Valley participated in a December tasting of the 2013 vintage of Sauvignon Blanc from the Casablanca vineyard designation. And in true Summer spirit, all the guests were asked to wear white!
Sixteen wines were presented from the wineries top lines showing some of the best quality Sauvignon Blancs in the New World. “Casablanca Valley is recognized worldwide for the high quality of its wines, especially for its Sauvignon Blanc which in the 2013 harvest gave more delicate wines that are very aromatic with slightly salty notes and a great acidity,” said Bernardita Zamora Fonck, from the Casablanca Valley Association.
The wineries participating in the tasting were: BodegasRe, Veramonte, Emiliana, House Casa del Vino, Quintay, Estancia El Cuadro, Loma Larga, Catrala, Kingston Family Vineyards, Casas del Bosque, Matetic, Cono Sur, Santa Rita, Indómita and Viñamar.
In conjunction with Valpairiso, Casablanca is the newest Great Wine Capital and with stunning cool climate wines, seaside scenery and fabulous pairings with local Chilean seafood – it is easy to see the attraction.
