Chilean wine was introduced to Scandinavian food at a lovely autumn lunch in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The lunch, sponsored by Wines of Chile in its effort to promote Chilean wine around the globe, was held at Mielcke & Hurtigkarl, one of Copenhagen’s most unique and elegant restaurants.
“The ambience was very positive,” recalls wine promoter Pia Vodder of House of Wine/Danish Winetours. “Many [attendees] expressed that they were very interested in trying various wines with the dishes.”
Twenty-four wines accompanied a special 6-course meal prepared by the restaurant’s excellent culinary team.
In addition to the restaurant’s owners and popular sommelier, the following wine writers and restaurant professionals engaged in the palate-stimulating meal:
Henrik Steen Andersen of Politiken
Søren Frank of Berlingske Tidende
Rasmus Holmgård from Dagbladenes Bureau
Elsebeth Lohfert of Vinbladet
Mille Madsen of Visitor / Horesta
Malene Smidt Hertz from TV2, blogger and writer for Sommelier
Niels Lillelund of JyllandsPosten
Carsten Pedersen, Sommelier, writer for Vinavisen
Sammy Shafi of the restaurant Michelin Kokkeriet (2 personas: dueño y
sommelier)
Martin Troelsen of the restaurant Michelin Kong Hans
Emil Gamrath of Alberto K
Katrine Giorgio of the restaurant Michelin Era Ora
Marie-Anne Rice of the restaurant Godt
“Now we only need to hope that the journalists write positive things and that the restaurants decide to have more Chilean wine on the menu,” says Vodder.

Cono Sur
Lapostolle
Quintay
