I just recently came back from Chile and what a wonderful country. I really enjoyed the wines. I brought back a 2005 Ravanal Limited Selection blend syrah-Carmenere-Cabernet Sauvignon. I was wondering if you could tell me more about this wine. I also have a Ramirana Reserva 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon could you also tell me about this one.

Interesting question. Yes, there are some wineries with the same name as a valley, although there’s no regulation against it. But the important thing is to enjoy the wine!

How correct is it to call a winery with the valley name or vice versa? Isn’t this a bit misleading for the consumer who in 99% of the cases doesn’t know by heart who is who?
