Gurvinder Bhatia: Taste of Santiago is Well Worth the Trip

gurvinder-bhatia-250It rarely fails: we invite someone here to the ends of the earth, to this country called Chile, and they go away a fan.For some it’s the mountains that gets them; for others it’s the sea. Canadian wine critic Gurvinder Bhatia, one of the judges in this year’s Annual Wines of Chile Awards, took away impressions of the aromas and flavors of the mountains and the sea that flank this long, thin country. Tag along as he saunters down this gastronomic memory lane as he reminisces about the wine, of course, but also the ceviche and pisco sours, seafood and shellfish beyond measure, classics such as empanadas and homemade country bread served with the essential local pebre-salsa, the spit-roasted Patagonian lamb, the multi-cultural influences of Chilean cuisine, the sights, the sounds, the ambiance of a country filled with flavor…

Gurvinder Bhatia in the Edmundton Journal: Taste of Santiago well worth the trip: Savour food and wine you wouldn’t find in Edmonton.
