It’s been a great year end for Chile’s Viña De Martino. Not only did they recently celebrate their 75th anniversary, but they have been racking up the awards as well.
In the 2009 International Wine & Spirits Competition, the De Martino 2007 Single Vineyard Alto de Piedras Carmenere won the Trophy for Best Carmenere (see: Chilean Carmenere Shines in the 2009 International Wine & Spirits Competition. They also won the IWSC Chilean Producer of the Year for the second time during the Awards Ceremony on November 26.
They continue to shine on the home front as well. The 2010 (Bicentennial) edition of the traditional Guía de Vinos not only spotlighted many of the company’s wines, but bestowed a special award upon chief winemaker Marcelo Retamal by naming him the Chile’s Bicentennial Winemaker.
