James Tidwell on “Chile: A New Wine Frontier”

james-tidwellMaster Sommelier James Tidwell, Beverage Manager of the Four Seasons Resort & Club in Irving Texas was one of the 8 participants in Chile’s recent Sommelier Summit.

He came away impressed by the “…fresh spirit of innovation and exploration [that] has taken hold of a new generation of wine pioneers who have traveled the world.”

He was also surprised by the diversity of varietals found here and affirms that the “…old vine Carignans were absolute standouts…as were the Viogniers and Pinot Noirs.”
