Amazon Wine Program Corked?

Megan Havercorn, of the Wine & Spirits Daily blog recently posted on something we’ve all been wondering about lately, especially after Amazon did a last-minute no-show at the Wines of Chile seminar on On-line wine marketing.

The October 23 edition of the blog reported that AmazonWine.com had sent out a letter announcing that the company had “recently decided not to resume shipping.” They gave no reason, but said that it was “a very tough choice.”

Havercorn recalled that “New Vine Logistics (recently acquired by Inertia Beverage Group) had struck a deal to partner with AmazonWine” but speculates that difficulties in inter-state alcohol sales may be posing a greater threat to the venture than originally anticipated.
