The traditional “huaso” sector of Colchagua was once again host to an inter-winery rodeo. This year’s event–the 3rd of its kind–included the participation of 27 wineries and 35 pairs of rodeo riders.
The vastly popular Chilean rodeo differs from the well-known North American version in that it relies teamwork more than individual skill. A pair of riders, called a collera, works together to guide the young bull through the ring and earn points with their skill in placing the bull where they want it.
